Confessions Of An UnOrGaNiZeD Mom

Ok, so I'm not really in Laundry Hell anymore, more like Laundry Purgatory LOL......it's a step up at least!

I did need to post that I am still washing off the laundry soap that I considered empty.....how absolutely ridiculous is that!

I'm not yet at a "managable level" and if I had to group it all up together I'd say I have about 3 full loads to wash, but it's a HUGE difference from what I started with.

I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed.  The end is so near and this cold is kicking my rear end!  I did manage to do a load tonight for fear of moving backwards instead of forward!  I am DETERMINED that laundry hell will be over this weekend, especially since I hope to start a new series next week.....no pressure though :)

Day 18 10/07/2009

The end is drawing closer and closer.....and I have this euphoric feeling of accomplishment.  Today I gathered the clothes I knew were dirty out of the kids rooms....Those have been washed and put away.

Then I took a large bag and threw all the clothes that were on my bedroom floor and hauled them to the basement where I'm still working on them.....my next step for tomorrow is to tackle the pile on my hope chest, and what's on my closet floor!

Day 18 10/06/2009

I'm sick :P so I did wash a load, and dry a load, and that load is still in the dryer LOL.....what can I say, I'm human right?

Day 17 10/04/2009

This posting is most likely the most monumental next to actually getting all this laundry done.

I washed all the laundry in the basement!!!!!!!!

If I had to guess I would say that it took about 8 loads of laundry and yes I was still going off the soap I though was empty enough to throw away!  Most of it is put away, or bagged up for good will.  Some is waiting until tomorrow.....but after busting my rear all day and going hiking on top of that I'm too tired to do any more!

Dare I say there might be light at the end of the laundry hell tunnel? I still have a ways to go but this is a HUGE feat for me so I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts

Day 16 10/03/2009

Today I hit a snag in my laundry plan.  I ran out of my Purex laundry sheets!  This is most likely the one time I'm thankful for having clutter so of course I had a few "empty" bottles of detergent in the basement!

I turned every on e of those bottles upside down to drain every last bit of soap out of them and so far I am three loads down on basement clothes!  I even have a small path cleared out that I'll have to post a pic of.  Most of the wash I'm finding down there belongs to Tony.  I've always made him do his own wash, he would wash it, fold it, and   apparently leave it in the basement.

Since there is literally NO money until Tony's unemployment comes thru on Wednesday, tipping those bottles over and finding out how many loads I could get done with what I thought was "empty" makes me realize how wasteful I've been........and how much I need to evalutate what else I'm wastefull on

Day 15 10/02/2009

With the wash basket milestone the other day, I am close to reaching another one!  I am down to the last load of being caught up with Ry's laundry! These are small milestones though. I have a basement full misc. piles, and my bedroom is a completely different story LOL

I'm truely hoping to put a good dent in the basement loads this weekend since we're finally staying home!  Don't get me wrong I love the cabin, but HATE the bugs in nature ;)  So watch out Day 16, you shall be eventfull! LOL

Day 15 10/01/2009

We have socks. LOL Ry and I went on our "mission" tonight after I came home from work and rounded up every last sock we could find.  And that was my load of wash for the day!  Not much of an update, but feel free to find comfort that my feet won't be offending anyone :)

Day 14 09/30/2009

Where the hell are my socks????  I have done umpteen million loads of wash yet none of us have any damn socks.....excuse my frustration, but as the piles diminish, I would think I would have found some by now.  So today instead of doing a load of wash, I'm going on a major sock hunt.  Wish me luck....if there's no post tomorrow....send help :)

Day 13 09/29/2009

I forgot to post day 12 but it is not as significant as day 13!
Tonight I reached a milestone in my Laundry Hell.  In my upstairs hallway I had an old washbasket, I don't know how long the clothes have been in there.....in fact I found a few shirts I thought I had lost!  As I said in earlier posts I'm not keeping track of the amount of wash I'm doing per day, but trust me I HAVE A LOT.  Tonight I washed and dried the last load from that evil hiding place for laundry.  And the first thing I did?
I threw that darn basket right in the attic.  Not only did it hold a lot of wash that I never got to, but the top started collecting
more and more misc. items each day.  So ironically just when I don't think I'm getting ANYWHERE in this quest I finally see a bright spot :)

    Picture

Laundry hell came about once I finally admitted to myself that my wash is completely and totally out of control!  I mean it's literally everywhere.  This is my journey and triumphs of trying to eventually get it all under control and still work full time :)
